A mom asked me this during a consultation. She was misguided by the family members saying that “Baby’s tummy should bulge out after every breastfeeding session” Or else you don’t have milk or you didn’t offer both the breasts. She was so confused and depressed because of this misinformation.
Now, how to know whether your baby is getting enough or not is by tracking urine count not by the size of the tummy.
If that is the case, given the sedentary lifestyle that we live in, how much should we eat to bulge our tummy out? Are we following the bulge out method with us? No! right? But then why with the baby? Think!
It’s because of the distorted information regarding breastfeeding which is circling for many decades, proper education and empowerment will help new mothers to overcome all these struggles.
